Deputy Valerie Vradenburg joined the Blackhawk Police Department in January 2021.  Deputy Vradenburg has been with the Contra Costa County Office of the Sheriff since September 2012. 

Deputy Vradenburg started her career at the West County Detention Facility before transferring to Patrol in January 2014.  Deputy Vradenburg’s longest assignment on Patrol was an officer for the Town of Danville where she spent 5 ½ years.  During her time in Danville, she served as a Field Training Officer, Active Shooter Instructor, and was also a part of the Police Oriented Policing Team (P.O.P.). 

In July of 2020, Deputy Vradenburg was transferred back to the West County Detention Facility where she remained until she was selected to join the Blackhawk Police Team.

In Deputy Vradenburg’s spare time she enjoys running, cooking new recipes, and gardening.  Deputy Vradenburg is a former competitive runner who raced during college and post collegiately.  She also participates in the annual Special Olympics Torch Run and the annual Baker to Vegas law enforcement relay race.  

Deputy Vradenburg has recently become a new aunt and her niece has stolen her heart.  Due to the pandemic, she has enjoyed FaceTiming with her new niece and spoils her with mail ordered  gifts.
