Deputy Donovan Turner joined the Blackhawk Police Department on July 3, 2023. Deputy Turner has been with the Contra Costa County Office of the Sheriff since September 2020.
Deputy Turner attended the Sheriff’s Department’s Academy (LETC), finishing near the top of his class. Upon graduating from the Academy, he started his career in the Custody Division, working at both the Martinez Detention Facility and West County Detention Facility. Deputy Turner transferred to Patrol Division in 2022 and primarily worked at Valley Station, serving the communities of Alamo and unincorporated Danville.

Prior to beginning his career in law enforcement, Deputy Turner served in the United States Marine Corps for 5 years, serving much of his time in Kuwait, Iraq, and Syria. Following his service time, Deputy Turner earned his associate degree from San Francisco City College and worked in construction.
In his off-time, Deputy Turner enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters (ages 3 and 5) hiking, camping, and enjoying the outdoors.
